Project tracker

Give the goal and deadline and get the work broken into tasks with dates and owners in a tracking table.

The prompt is put together in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, and favorites and history stay in your browser too.

Good for

  • Cross-team projects such as a website redesign or a new system
  • Planning an event backwards from the date
  • Giving a grounded answer when your boss asks "when will it be done?"

1. Fill in the details

2. Adjust the options

What the AI's answer looks like

Illustrative excerpt: the real answer depends on the AI you use and what you fill in.

| Phase | Task | Owner | Start | End | Depends on | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery | List mobile checkout problems | PM | Nov 10 | Nov 14 | — | Not started |
| Design | Mobile checkout flow | Designer | Nov 17 | Nov 28 | Problem list | Not started |
| Build | Checkout page | Developer A | Dec 1 | Dec 19 | Checkout flow | Not started |
| ... | | | | | | |
| Launch | Go live | Everyone | Jan 27 | Jan 31 | Testing done | Not started |

Milestones: design signed off Nov 28, build done Dec 19, testing done Jan 23

Main risks
1. Client photos arrive late → build with placeholders and swap them in later
2. No one available over the holidays → finish building before Dec 19

Tips

  • List known constraints such as holidays and things you are waiting on for a realistic plan
  • Pick the one or two most likely risks the AI lists and plan for them now
  • Paste the updated table back each week and ask where delays are likely

How to use it

  1. Fill in the fields. You can leave a field empty for now; the prompt will show a [Please add] placeholder.
  2. Choose the tone, length and where you will paste it, then press Copy.
  3. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek or a local model. If the AI asks you questions, answer them and the result gets better.
